Smoke DZA.

24 May

ran across this fella at a Big K.R.I.T “Return of 4Eva” concert in Greensboro, NC. There were so many underground artists on this tour that i had never heard of. amazing to say the least.

Hailing from Harlem, Smoke DZA started his career as one-half of the local New York rap duo Smoke & Numbers in 2004, but split from the group, went solo and dropped Substance Abuse in 2009.

Soon after dropping Substance Abuse, DZA released “George Kush.”  it was this mixtape that showed how hungry he was and added to his fan base dramatically.  in 2010, DZA embarked on the Smoker’s Club tour with Curren$y that also included Big K.R.I.T,  Dom Kennedy & many more.

his latest project, THC really shows his work ethic & his growth as an artist.  Also featured on this tape are some of my other underground favorites Mookie Jones (#autooo!!!) & Kendrick Lamar.
